Our Process

Step 1: Introduction

A 20-minute Skype or phone call helps to establish expectations, project goals, and desired timeframe for deliverables from both parties. A 50% deposit is due to secure the booking at this time. 

Step 2: Homework

A private client project page is set up which will serve as the home base for all project elements. The client project page has a short questionnaire to fill out that will help establish desired outcomes. At the same time, a secret Pinterest board is also set up and clients are invited to pin images that inspire the overall look and feel of the brand they desire. For website design clients, all written content for the site must be provided at this stage. When all client homework is complete, another quick phone call helps to summarize things and establish next steps.

Step 3: Logo & Brand Design

An inspiration board is developed for the client's review. Upon approval, three to four logo concepts are developed and uploaded to client's private homepage. The client then chooses one logo option to move forward with. Two sets of revisions are then completed. Once the final logo has been approved, logo variations are developed and complementary colours and fonts are chosen. 

Step 4: Website Design

Our goal is to design websites that are modern, beautiful, navigable, and easy for our clients to manage. To do so, we use a platform called Squarespace, which has a simple backend that we can train our clients to use in about one hour. We are proud members of the Squarespace Circle design community. This allows us to build our client's site under an extended trial period, so we take care of signing up for the trial and inviting our clients as contributors to the site when the time is right. Clients are responsible for purchasing a Squarespace website, reserving a domain (although your first year is free with a Squarespace platform purchase) and providing the necessary info to us to ensure a published site.

Step 5: File Sharing & Training

Upon receipt of the remaining 50% of payment, all final design files are shared with the client in various formats (.eps and .png) via the client project page. A one-hour training session takes place over Skype and the designer shares their screen with the client as they walk them through the backend of their Squarespace site. This ensures that our clients can manage their brand effectively on their own.

Step 6: Launch Day

Time to get excited! On launch day, we share the big news with the world and celebrate!
