The location

Greenville, SC

In 2017, Greenville was named the 4th-fastest growing city in the United States.

Jen moved to Greenville in 2002 to get a degree in psychology from Furman University, and has resided here ever since. Her entrepreneurial experience began right in downtown in 2007 as a co-owner in one of the mainstay restaurants, long before launching her professional organizing business in 2014. The energy of this revitalized city and maturation of her business experience are very much linked, which made it the perfect choice for the Productive AF retreat. In the spring, she is continuing her professional growth with an accredited certification in small business coaching through the University of Texas at Dallas.

Very few cities are fortunate to have as beautiful a downtown area — one full of arts, culinary, and historic treasures. You’ll get her guidance on her very favorite restaurants and activities that downtown offers, so that you can recharge and network with other attendees exactly the way you want to.

And if you’ll be somewhere freezing cold this winter, see this past February’s weather in Greenville and see if you aren’t tempted by the climate alone. The video above is just a glimpse of what Greenville is really like!

5 Reasons to Attend

  1. Meaningful connections. We can’t do business and life alone. Experience life-giving, collaborative conversations with other professional organizers organically throughout the weekend, creating authentic and lasting friendships.

  2. Enjoy a delightful venue and location. Escape from the winter blues and same-old, same-old. Greenville will charm your pants off. Productive AF will be held in a huge, funky loft in the heart of our energetic downtown that’s within walking distance of hundreds of shops and restaurants.

  3. Laser-focused sessions. The Productive AF retreat will live up to its name by making sure we don’t waste a minute of your time on silly exercises. Jen’s all-new content will level up your ability to slay distractions in 2019 so your business can grow.

  4. Goodies you can use. This event won’t remind you of a conference stuffed with vendors and cheap gifts to take home. Professional headshots and other personalized touches to surprise and delight you are part of the package!

  5. Get more than just a weekend away. Your Productive AF experience begins months in advance with a private group for attendees and homework to help you get the most out of the retreat.

#6 — a bonus reason! Be the first. You definitely want to be a part of the first-ever retreat from Pro Organizer Studio — it’ll come with perks like personalized followup and first dibs on future events.

The Venue

Loft at NOMA Square

The Productive AF retreat site is a huge (3000 sq ft) funky loft in downtown Greenville. Located in a 100+year-old-building, the loft has 25-30 foot ceilings, antique exposed-brick walls, and arched windows allowing lots of natural light. This venue was specially chosen for its eclectic decor and modern aesthetic, intended to energize and inspire you.

Our weekend starts with a welcome happy hour on the loft’s private rooftop deck for the entire group on Thursday evening. On Friday and Saturday, our retreat sessions will be held in the loft’s common areas, which have ample space for up to 25 to spread out and be comfortable. At all times, you’re literally steps away from Starbucks downstairs. Afternoons will include a variety of opportunities for our group to break out and choose their activities, but the loft space is available to everyone during the day for downtime, enjoying your own lunch, or private moments to work on your business.

WHO ELSE IS GOING?

As indicated on the schedule, the Productive AF retreat has been created by Jen Obermeier and the sessions are all led by her in her capacity as a business coach. This event does not include presentations by any members of our services network: Layne, Emma, or Ashley. Although the content of the retreat is not specific to the Inspired Organizer™ program, at this time, only members of Inspired Organizer™ have been invited to this first event. This simplifies the planning process and ensures that you’ll spend time in fellowship with other women who are invested in their business at the same level as you are.

As soon as you register, you’ll get access to the full list of attendees in a private group.

WHAT DO YOU THINK MY TOTAL COST WILL BE?

Productive AF is a tax-deductible business retreat starting at $400 for the ticket only. Your final cost will need to account for round-trip transportation to Greenville, SC, all meals and beverages, your choice of lodging, and other optional extras such as Uber rides, yoga, bike rental, or art museum excursions. Typically your travel, lodging, and some food costs will also be deductible — check with your accountant if this is your first business trip.

I’M EXCITED! BUT WHEN DO I NEED TO MAKE A DECISION?

Do not wait — many have expressed their interest in this event, and registration is very limited. To save your spot, a 50% deposit is payable immediately, with the other 50% due no later than December 1st. Our early registration process keeps the cost of the event down and gives you plenty of time to set aside expenses for travel, food, and other extras closer to the retreat date.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

First things first: this is a casual gathering, so please plan to be comfortable. Weather in Greenville varies, but is typically in the mid-50’s in February, and 30’s at night. You’ll have the opportunity to get a headshot done on-site the first morning of the retreat — so that’s the time you’ll want to do makeup, hair, and wear your “on-brand” outfit. Apart from that, you’ll need comfortable shoes for walking to most restaurants and activities during the day, and something nicer, but comfortable, for our dinners out. Other specifics may apply for certain activities you choose such as hot yoga or bike riding.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I BRING?

You’ll need your workbook (available to you in December), your normal planning method (paper planner, or digital), your favorite notebook, and perhaps a laptop if you have one and would like to use it. Whatever you usually need to feel your most productive — bring it!

I HATE CHAOS — CAN I COUNT ON THERE BEING SOME STRICT RULES?

Absolutely.

  1. Phones are welcome, but MUST stay on silent during retreat sessions.

  2. Loft guests are expected to keep their belongings out of main session areas and bathrooms during daytime hours for the benefit of the entire group.

  3. The maximum guest count at the loft is strict, so retreat-only participants must make their own hotel arrangements (highly recommend the Hyatt across the street). The entire group is welcome to socialize into the late night together in either of the two loft spaces, but no off-site guests may “camp out” at the loft overnight.

  4. If you have something you would like to present or give to the group, you MUST have approval. No exceptions.

ARE TICKETS OR LOFT ACCOMMODATIONS REFUNDABLE IF I CAN'T ATTEND?

There are no refunds on either type of registration. If you are unable to attend, tickets may be sold/transferred to another person on our waitlist. We are also able to transfer the tickets into a scholarship opportunity! We will find a replacement, and you'll be a superstar in someone's eyes.

I WANT TO BOOK MY TRAVEL — WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE AND LEAVE?

For the loft guests, check-in begins at 4pm Thursday. The whole group is invited to the loft for the welcome party from 4 - 6:30pm, followed by our first group dinner. The retreat sessions are 9am - 1pm Friday and 10am - 1pm Saturday. The latest check-out time for loft guests on Sunday is 11am. If you’re attending the retreat only, it's nice to pad some extra time on one end or the other of your trip (for maximum networking and weekend-enjoying!), but as long as you're here Friday and Saturday mornings, you'll be here for the sessions.

WHAT’S YOUR AIRPORT SITUATION?

The Greenville-Spartanburg airport is approximately 20 minutes from downtown Greenville. It’s newly renovated and extremely easy to get in and out of — no need for flight anxiety. There are direct flights available from Dallas, Houston, D.C., New York, Denver, and more. Here’s a full list of GSP airlines, and here’s a study on the best time to buy tickets. Many of the hotels in downtown Greenville offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport.

IF I DRIVE TO THE LOFT, IS THERE PARKING?

Yes, there is a city garage on the ground floor — expect to pay around $8 a day.

WHAT DOES “AF” STAND FOR?

Here ya go.
